Models offering the new PACCAR transmission

PACCAR is always pushing commercial truck technology forward. The latest advancement PACCAR has made is the introduction of a new automated transmission. There will be multiple Peterbilt models offering the new PACCAR transmission.

PACCAR Transmission Peterbilt Models

The new PACCAR automated transmission will be available on the Peterbilt 579 and Peterbilt 567. The transmission is available for immediate order on models equipped with the PACCAR MX-13 engine. Availability for PACCAR MX-11 equipped models is scheduled for early 2018.

PACCAR has designed the new transmission for heavy-duty linehaul applications. The transmission selects gears and shifts based on grade, vehicle weight, engine torque, and throttle position. One of the goals of the transmission is to reduce the cost of ownership, coming equipped with an industry-exclusive fluid pressure sensor system. This system provides advance warning in low oil situations. A special oil-coalescing air filter helps to protect the transmission from contamination.

The new transmission will be backed by a five year, 750,000 mile warranty.
