Peterbilt 379 Performance and Capabilities

The Peterbilt 379 is a true roadway icon that's undoubtedly earned it's global reputation. Replacing the Peterbilt 359 in the late 1980's, it was Peterbilts best-selling model in all 20 years of its production. This legend never died; these long nose Peterbilts are still catching eyes on roadways all over the world. The Peterbilt 379 is one of the most sought after models of trucks in the used truck market even after it was retired in 2007.

We're happy to say that many of these 379s make their way into our lot, though they don't seem to sit around long. To further outdo themselves in this outstanding display of pride and class, Peterbilt Motors developed an elite trim level of this model- the rare 379X. In addition to the 7" exhaust stacks and custom shifter knob, the 379X version featured additional polished aluminum throughout the truck, including unique fenders and stunning centerline hood trim.

The Peterbilt 379 is a truck designed for comfort and productivity. With an extra roomy cab and contoured dash, every control is in line with the eye and within easy reach. The Peterbilt 379 is also equipped with a spacious, quiet riding cab sleeper system for the utmost comfort on the road.

No long-haul trucking experience in a classic Peterbilt would be complete without a classic form of communication. Many Peterbilt 379 trucks come with the Cobra 25 or 29 LTD Classic.
