OVERVIEW: 

The Peterbilt 589 is a heavy-duty truck known for its robust performance, durable construction, and advanced features tailored for long-haul trucking. Building on Peterbilt's reputation for quality and reliability, the 589 model incorporates modern technology while retaining the classic design elements that the brand is known for.

The new Peterbilt 589 boasts a refined aerodynamic design aimed at maximizing fuel efficiency without compromising on power. Equipped with advanced driver-assist systems, it prioritizes safety and ease of operation in varied driving conditions. The 589 continues Peterbilt's tradition of excellence, offering a compelling combination of tradition and innovation to meet the evolving demands of the trucking industry.

HOODS, CROWN & GRILLE

The classic huck bolted aluminum hood is available in 121 or 131 inch BBC and features a wrap-around aluminum crown and rectangular stainless steel grille mesh with triple grille bars.

ALUMINUM CAB

The 2.1m cab features stamped-aluminum panels. The wider cab was built around the driver, with excellent ergonomics and plenty of space between the seats to access the sleeper.

EXHAUST

Multiple exhaust options are available, including right-hand under-cab or horizontal cannisters with a variety of tail pipe configurations.

BUMPERS

A wide array of bumper styles and materials are available, including

Texas square, standard taper, deep taper and logger style in

aluminum polished, chrome, stainless steel-clad aluminum or

painted depending on configuration.

STEERING WHEEL

The contoured steering wheel with bright touches and premium stitching places integrated controls at the driver’s fingertips. The Platinum Sandstone interior features a luxurious two-tone leather wheel.

DIGITAL DISPLAY

The 15ʺ digital display is the largest in the industry, with easy-to-use features, customizable gauges and intelligent gauge monitoring.

AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL

High-performance, automatic climate control maintains a comfortable driver environment with five vents for balanced air flow and superior defrost performance.

POWER PROVISIONS

Four 12V outlets are included in the 72 & 80-inch sleepers, with options for additional 12V and 120V outlets. The 58ʺ sleeper includes two standard 12V outlets with options for additional 12V and 120V outlets.

WORKSTATION / SLEEPER CONTROL PANEL

The workstations on the 72 & 80-inch sleepers include convenient climate and audio controls, up to three 12V outlets, two cup holders, additional storage, and a pull-out tray.

REFRIGERATOR

A factory-installed 1.8-cubic-foot refrigerator is available on the 72  and 80-inch sleepers, with a premium cosmetic cover. Also available are provisions for a furnished-by-owner refrigerator up to 4.4-cubic-feet.

MATTRESS

All sleepers feature premium, large mattresses with options

for single or double bunks. Versatile upper bunks fold for

increased storage elevated relaxation and comfort.

STORAGE

The sleeper is fitted with purposeful storage throughout. The 72ʺ & 80ʺ high roof configurations include a full-height wardrobe and upper sidewall cabinets, as well as optional rear wall storage.

TV PROVISIONS

An optional factory-installed TV mount with power cables can accommodate up to a 22 inch flat screen and is located on the passenger sidewall for optimal viewing.

LIGHTING

LED lighting is located throughout the sleeper. Task-specific lighting includes two adjustable spots – one for reading in the bunk and another for the workstation. On 72ʺ & 80ʺ high roof configurations, the optional ambient lighting package with dimmable LED lights delivers elevated relaxation and comfort.
