Bendix Wingman Advanced System Features
Peterbilt has just announced that, moving forward, the Bendix Wingman Advanced system will now be included as standard equipment on the Peterbilt Model 579. Bendix Wingman Advanced is a collision mitigation system designed to serve a crucial safety function.
“Peterbilt strengthens its position as an industry safety leader with the adoption of Bendix Wingman Advanced as a standard feature on the Model 579.” – Robert Woodall, Assistant General Manager of Sales and Marketing.
Wingman Advanced works with the Bendix Electronic Stability Program (ESP). The Bendix ESP includes additional safety systems like in-lane object recognition with alert and adaptive cruise control with braking. These systems are designed to prevent rear-end collisions. Wingman Advanced provide following distance and stationary object alerts.

Also available on the Model 579 is the Bendix Wingman Fusion system. Wingman Fusion adds enhanced collision mitigation with stationary object braking, lane-departure warnings and speed sign recognition to the roster of safety features.

Yes and it’s a piece of shit. If you like a full brake lock up and loads shifting because someone is on an off ramp or exit ramp and nearly causing a pile up then this is the system for you. Great job peterbilt. Some guy sitting behind a desk that has never even seen the inside of a fucking truck thought this would be a great idea.
couldn’t said it better myself bob gorgan totally agree the one I drive fully locks uo when it determines is too close in miami traffic is crazy and the cutting in is unpreventable and this truck locking up on the brakes nearly made me loose my load this system will cause harm to the driver and the general public peterbilt this is not a good system by the way if I ever get involved in an accident because of locking brakes who am I to blame the truck really I believe the driver should have full control of vehicle or you will get charged with careless driving
